Funny Friday

Does anybody know what this weekend is? ...........it's DRAGON-CON!!!! This is the festival where all the dorks of America gather to dress up and celebrate their "special powers". No, I'm not a fan, BUT Chris and I enjoyed some serious entertainment by riding up and down Peachtree St in Atlanta looking at all those crazy fools! It was hilarious. We have decided that next year we're going to set up bleachers down there just to watch. You can't help but be amazed that so many people are that crazy about SciFi!

Another funny thing....Chris bought me my camera for my birthday! YAY! He found it really cheap and it was an offer we couldn't refuse. The funny thing is that when the guy called to confirm the order, he told me it was the Japanese model. I'm like ok, whatever. Well, that means that the manual is in Japanese!!! The guy was like, "do you speak/read Japanese?" HA! Then Chris got to thinking, does that mean all the icons and instructions on the actual camera are in Japanese? :) I guess we'll find out soon enough!

That is all.

It must be the weather

Well hello! This week has been really weird. It must be all the rainy days because I have been stressed to the max! There is so much going on with school and it's only week 2! Thank goodness I don't have class on Saturday. I've got so many deadlines to meet in order to get into the education program, not to mention paying for school! Apparently the economy is so bad that the student loan companies don't have money to pay the schools! So, it may be mid September before my money comes, if it comes at all. Fantastic! The poor guy working at the bookstore today....I thought he was going to stroke out on me. Maybe he's having a rough week too!
I really miss my mom. Here lately I've gone to pick up the phone to call her, only to realize she's not here. I think the big problem is that I don't know how to cope with it. Every time I think of her, I try not to think of her because I cry. But then I think that I'm going to forget her because I don't let myself think about her. Confused yet? How DO you cope with it? Losing the one person on earth that you were so extremely close to and who encouraged you NO matter what and who believed all your dreams would come true. It's just hard to have to admit she's gone and not coming back.
I miss my friends too. One of my new goals is to be more involved in the lives of my friends and make a better effort of staying in touch.

Just venting. Like I said, must be the weather.

Live Your Best Life

So, I'm reading Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen and let me just say I love it! I've had a few really crappy things happen throughout my life and for a long time, I just expected bad things to happen because they always did. Now I'm on a mission to change my way of thinking and it really puts me in a better mood. So, since I like it so much, I thought I'd share the 7 keys to living your best life:
1. ENLARGE Your Vision
2. Develop a Healthy Self-Image
3. Discover the Power of Your Thoughts and Words
4. Let Go of the Past
5. Find Strength Through Adversity
6. Live to Give
7. Choose to be Happy

So I've decided that I will have these words visible at all times! I hope you all go out and read it!!!

Have a fabulous weekend!

4 Months and Counting

Well can you believe it, there's only 4 months left in 2008! So, I have decided to set a goal list of things that must be completed by 12.31.08. Here it goes:
1. Get out of Debt
2. Buy my camera
3. Lose 20 pounds

That's my top 3. I think that's enough to start with. I don't want to overwhelm myself, because then I wouldn't accomplish any of it.

On a lighter note, we had a fun family evening of determining stripper names. I would be the fabulous Teddy Holiday! Chris would be Pee-Wee Augusta! The way you decide your name is very easy:
Take the name of your first pet (first name)
and then the name of the first street you lived on.
Ahh, what an evening! Hmmm......maybe I could get Chris to start stripping again to help bring in some extra cash! :)

HAPPY TUESDAY!

Things That Make You Go Hmmm.....

1. There is an event in the olympics that is literally jumping on a trampoline. You can see it here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WH3cSu64bA

2. Why do they call 400 a freeway when it's not really free?

3. Do the actors on Unsolved Mysteries or America's Most Wanted ever get arrested because they look like the criminal they are playing?

4.Why are Christmas lights packaged with the warning "For indoor or outdoor use only"? Where else would you put them?

5.Why do drive-thru ATMs have braille code on them?

That is all.

Desperate Cane Toads

So yesterday was my first day of school! Yay!!! Of course, neither of my teachers let us out early, so I was there from 8-2. BUT, in my last class (science) we watched an hour long video about Cane Toads. About 30 minutes of it was on mating! Ha! It was so funny. The male cane toad is very sex driven, therefore he will try to mate with ANYTHING----even dead frogs. Sound like a typical male???? So that is my new name for man hoes: "Desperate Little Cane Toads"!

All joking aside, I was a little bummed in both of my classes yesterday.......I have a test on the 13th and the 20th of September. Yep, on my birthday and on the weekend I was supposed to have my b-day trip. So it looks like no big 25th birthday bash this year! However, I would like to reschedule for maybe in the spring sometime. It can just be a girls trip. I'll have to figure something else out for my birthday this year...maybe just a girls night out. As a matter of fact, that sounds pretty fun. So, it's settled! I'm glad I just had that conversation with myself :)

Well now I have to go pump my self up to go to work tomorrow!

This is the Life

So I am officially starting my new work schedule since school is back in session and let me just say...I'M EXCITED!!! School starts tomorrow and the next week I will only be working 3 days a week! That is fabulous! I took today off because I had a lot of overtime this week and I have just loved it! I went yard-selling with Chris's mom, then we had lunch, ice cream and now I've paid bills (at least I can say I did SOMETHING productive). Now if I could just completely quit work! Hmmm.......

Odds Are...

So, instead of working, like I should be right now, I'm eating a fruit roll-up! The paper that the roll-up is on has a few very interesting facts that I thought I'd share!
1. Odds of finding a 4-leaf clover on the first try: 10,000 to 1
2. Odds of being eaten by a shark: 300,000,000 to 1
3. Odds of getting a hole in one: 5,000 to 1
4. Odds of being struck by lightning: 576,000 to 1
5. Odds of a meteor landing on your house: 182,138,880,000,000 to 1 (I think that's trillion!)

Enjoy your Thursday!

Best Thing Ever

Howdy! Well, about a month ago, I found the best thing ever! My fabulous cuz Holli sent me the link to Mommy Saves Big.com! Oh my goodness, it is full of so many coupons to just about everywhere! And it's free! There's a section on there where you can get all kinds of free samples. We could all use a little "free" with prices the way they are. www.mommysavesbig.com

You Win Some, You Lose Some

OK, so the last few months have been quite the ride. Back in March Chris lost his job and just started his new job (or "yob" as the Latinos say) yesterday. He loves it! Thank God!!!! So, about a month ago, we moved in with his parents so we could save some money. WOW is all I can say. I've never lived with more than 2 other people, and when I did it was my mom and step dad, and my step dad doesn't even really count as a person (yeah, he had personality). Now I'm living with 5 other people! Let me just say, it's tough. We found an apartment we like, so now we've got to work out the details. I think it's best for my sanity and for the sake of the family for us to live elsewhere. I just might snap on somebody......and that would not be good!
On a happier note, school starts for me on Saturday. I am so incredibly excited! I'm finally starting my major courses--it's like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Side note: Stepbrothers is the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. I love it!!!

That is all. More to come tomorrow.

This Crazy Life

Well I'm back to blogging! It really is an awesome way to keep friends and family in the loop. Sometimes, it's super late before you have time to call anyone, so at least you can keep up with their lives through blogging.
I'm excited to be blogging about the never ordinary adventures of my life! As most of you know, there's never ever ever ever a dull moment (especially with Chris around)!

Enjoy!
