Ahhh...the sweetness of accomplishment!

We crammed so much into our short little weekend! And it was great! I promise I have pictures of everything, but we're having a little trouble with internet speed (which is getting fixed today) so I should be able to post the pics tonight or tomorrow.
Ok, here it goes:
We.........
...hung out with friends on Friday night for an evening of breakfast for dinner and bowling.
...went to Chris's little bro's football game Saturday morning and got absolutely drenched! I'm talking not a single dry spot - mascara running down my face, wet undergarments, everything - SOAKED! But it was a fun adventure!
...pulled our house somewhat together. The kitchen is unpacked and the other boxes are in their respective rooms. Just got to put out my little decorative things and we should be set!
...went to dinner Saturday night with some friends to celebrate Chris's 28th b-day! ewww.....30 is drawing near! We ate at a Japanese restaurant that was super yummy and our waitress was soo funny! She barely spoke English and made us sing Happy Birthday 4 times! Of course the last time was with another waitress banging the gong! It was great! Then they took a picture of all of us together. Fun!
...had our regular Sunday morning festivities with a little added spice to start off the morning. Can't really talk about it, but just know that it was craziness!
...had dinner with my sweet girlies from Lacey's (we all worked our way through high school together at this small town drug store). It was a birthday celebration! We always have so much fun together! We've gone through all of our major life events together from prom to marriages, to deaths, to babies and engagements! I love those girls!!!

And of course Thursday night we had tons of fair festivities. So yes, I promise to have pictures of everything up by tomorrow!

After all of that, I'm pretty pooped and wishing I could go back to bed. But there's no time for that! After work there is school and after school there is dinner with the rents and after dinner is uploading pics! Ha!
I think my sleep deprivation is only worsening my baby fever - I can't think clearly! Or it could be that I've spent the weekend surrounded by the cutest babies ever. Is there a degree I can get that pays me to be a stay at home mom? If so, that's what I want to major in!

Happy Monday everyone!

Making a House a Home

I am beyond excited!!! For the first time in my life, I have a house that is becomming a home! Last night we did some major shopping - and of course we found great deals! We have a new tv, new slip covers, a new mail box, a new bed frame and new bedding! It's coming together!!! My goal this weekend:
Add the finishing touches and post pictures of it on the bloggy blog!
I am most excited about the craft room and making curtains for it! I seriously am overflowing with creative ideas and this creates a problem because I really have school work that I need to be doing!
Also yesterday, our washer and dryer was delivered and the security alarm was put in. Today the gas was turned on which means hot water finally! Chris put up the mail box, so now we can get mail. Bug man's coming Tuesday. The only thing left now is the fridge.
Oh yeah, I bought new dishes last night too!
By Monday I'll be ready for lots of parties at our place!

Really the only other big things to get are a patio set for the screened in porch, counter top, island for the kitchen, desk and book case. I'm hoping I can find some good stuff at yard sales and Craigslist. There's a major yard sale in two weeks if I can just hold out!

And let's not forget about the fair tonight! That's just happiness in itself!

It seems like for the first time in a REALLY LONG time, things are falling into place and going well....and it scares the crap out of me!

Happy Thursday Everyone!!!

~Fall Is Here!!!~

I'm so excited! Today is the official first day of Fall - my absolute most favorite time of year!!! I love the clothes, the colors, the smell, the scenery, just everything! AND guess what else is in the FALL????? THE FAIR!!!!!!!!! Oh yes, it starts on Thursday and I'm so excited! I don't really ride anything, I just love the armosphere!

A few other fantabulous things about today:
Today Is:
*elephant appreciation day
*hobbit day
*ice cream cone birthday
*international day of radiant peace
(According to Holidays.net)

So my friends, have a fabulous Tuesday!

EXHAUSTED!

Well we are moved in. Well....actually all of our belongings have made it to the new house. And they've pretty much stayed in the boxes and middle of the floors! Sadly, I see no time in the near future to get started on any of it!
Saturday we moved in the rain. Umm, let's re-phrase that - my hubby and his friends moved in the rain. I supervised. ;) Saturday night Chris got on a roll and decided to hang all our blinds - about 11:30pm. I was so proud of him! See he's extremely unhandy, and these were the first blinds he's ever hung and he did it brilliantly! This week is going to be crazy. We're getting a security alarm installed today, bug man tomorrow, washer and dryer on Wednesday. Then we have to hang a door and buy a counter top. And on top of our schedules as is, we must unpack!
What I'm most excited about is that we actually were able to sleep last night. Saturday night (1st night in the new place) neither one of us slept at ALL. Want to know why? That would be because our cat was having some adjustment issues and howled all night long. It was horrible. But last night was much better.
Not sure if you've seen the weather but it's been raining for over a week here and today everything is flooded! That means for school tonight I get to walk across campus in the rain! I'm so excited! **Note Sarcasm**
I have taken the "before pics" of the new place and will post them soon.
Happy Monday!

Moving Day Is Tomorrow!

Oh yes, moving day is tomorrow. I really hate moving with a passion. However, the end result will be worth it. We are so excited about our new little crib! Hehe! I promise there will definitely be before and after pics. The most exciting part is the craft room I'm getting! I went to bed last night dreaming about the curtains I am going to make for it! Everything in there has to be created by me - you know a creative craft room! I can tell you that you will be able to see a big difference in the before and after. And I have the most fabulous Bath and Body Works Wallflowers in there that smell out of this world! I am totally addicted to their new scent "Leaves". Oh my goodness, it's heavenly! I could just sniff it all day long!
The bad part is that I'm really not feeling well today and that just sucks to feel like poop and be stressed about my to-do list!

Anyway, pictures will be coming soon!!!! ;) I had the cable and internet hooked up yesterday just for blogging purposes!

Something to Make Your Day!

So last night we had life group. That's our Tuesday night bible study for young peeps with no kids. Our study was great. And then afterwards, we decided to hang out and watch You Tube videos!
Oh my goodness, please watch this video. Click HERE.

This absolutely made my day! I think I'll watch it every day! Along with the grape stomp video on You Tube as well!

I love that we can all get together and have so much fun!

Happy Wednesday!!!

Fabulousness!

So this weekend was tons of fun! Friday night we went to the Pope High School football game to see Chris's little sis in the color guard. The game was great! And it was cool because it's Chris's alma-mater. Saturday started with an awesome photo shoot at the train tracks and then another one Saturday evening at Lenox Park. You can see photos here. Chris and I had lunch at Chow Baby - fabulousness! Then a little shopping. And I found the most fabulous things at Pier One that were actually cheap! So exciting! They had a clearance sale!
And then today was my 26th birthday - more fabulousness! Church was great! My friends at church are great! We had a big group go hang out and chow down on some Mexican food. Loved it! Then LOTS of photo editing tonight and a little more shopping.
And then there's now.....I should be doing homework.
But blogging is much more entertaining.
Along with the ridiculous excuse of an awards show on MTV right now.
Ugh!

Happy almost Monday!

C.R.A.Z.Y. = Me!

What a weekend/week! Ok so we went to a concert Thursday night and Friday night. Then on Saturday we went to a BBQ at a fellow church member's house. Sunday we did our regular duties at church and then headed to South Carolina to observe an extremely successful church called NewSpring. It was amazing and gave us tons of inspiration for our new and improved children's ministry. Then there was Monday - a day off which consisted of appliance shopping/pricing and cleaning of our soon to be new place to call home! We're moving at the end of the month and I'm really excited. It's just an all around fabulous deal and I can definitely see God working through this. However there is a slight bit of stress going on because we are revamping the children's ministry to be completed by 9/27, finalizing details for our Fall Festival 10/24 and moving all at the same time. Not to mention both of us in school and my birthday on Sunday and Chris's on the 25th. Ah.
Oddly enough, I'm quite excited by all the chaos!
I know, I know. We've moved like 5 times in 5 years. BUT we can see the divine work of God in our lives as a result of each of them. It's just taken us a little while to finally get in the right place. So hopefully this will be home for a while.

Meanwhile, I'm still working on my photo business and so excited to have a new website. It just feels right now.

Anyway, hope you're having a great day and I will post before and after pics of the house very soon!!!

New Things!

I officially have a professional website! Check it out: www.laurenthomasphotography.com

So exciting! This weekend was a complete whirlwind! I will post later today and tell you all about it!

Happy Wednesday!

It's Friday!!!!

I have been a bad blogger. I know. Almost 3 weeks without a post. What is wrong with me???
I have been super duper busy!!! School is in full swing and pretty much for the last three weeks I haven't made it home before 9:00. Now for those of you who don't know, I like to be in the bed by 9! Hopefully one day this weekend I can catch up!

And do you know what?!?! My blog turned 1 last month and I completely missed it! Ugh!

Last night we went to see Christy Nockels! She is one of my all time favorite singers! She's just amazing, and so darn cute! I love love love love her! AND one of our friends is in her band, so that means I should be seeing lots of her soon!

So the plans for this weekend:
*Zac Brown Band concert tonight
*Bar-B-Q at a church member's farm tomorrow; UGA game at 3:30
*Church on Sunday and then heading to South Carolina for the evening to check out Newsprings Church
*Monday - cleaning day!!! And launch new website!

My goal this fall is to get really into college football. I told Chris that we have to be dedicated fans this year, so Saturday is the beginning!

School is going good so far. I really like my classes - they are challenging but I like them. So hopefully this will be another successful semester.

There's some other stuff going on that I desperately want to blog about, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to do/say it. Some of it is exciting and some - not so much. But as soon as I figure out the best way to blog about it I will.

Happy Labor Day everyone!
