So, our reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church we were married in. We had a noon wedding, so the food was mostly just little finger foods. I ordered a plain cake and then we decorated it ourselves with flowers. Actually, we made all of our own flower arrangements - you can get 2 dozen roses at Costco for $13.99 so this was a much cheaper alternative. And, if I might add, I thought they turned out beautifully!
For our groom's cake, Chris wanted cheesecake! Yum! So, that's exactly what we had. Our first drink was a yummy wedding punch. Here are a few photos of that:

As for our honeymoon - well, we were extremely broke! So, my dear sweet friends all chipped in and got us a cabin at Banning Mills for the night of our wedding. We are so eternally grateful for that! For some reason, I have no pictures! But you can check out their website! It's an old mill that has been turned into cabins, a lodge, inn, and events facility. It was beautiful! And 5 years later, we've yet to take that honeymoon. We've actually never been on a real vacation with just the two of us. We typically only take weekend trips and stay extremely cheap. So, we're trying to plan for something nice in the near future!
I would love to do one of the "honeymoon" packages at a Sandals resort. Those are very enticing!
Anyway, I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!
I looooveee cheesecakes, people now tend to pick those cupcake mountains or something. I like cheesecakes much better :)
ReplyDeleteI think the Banning Hills place was so cute - and super sweet of everyone to chip in! :) And your wedding was super cute too!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos ~ looks like everyone had a terrific time dancing, eating and enjoying the event.
ReplyDeleteYour cakes was gorgeous and so were the decorations.
My husband and I have never taken a honeymoon and we've been together for 20+ years.
