The Shack

Ola blogger land! This week I started reading The Shack by William P. Young.

I have to say I have mixed emotions about it. Now, I thought it was really good and loved the story. The book is about a man named Mack and his dealing with the murder of his youngest daughter. He spends a weekend in the shack where she was murdered, 3 years prior, and has a personal encounter with God that mends his brokenness.
I guess what made me a little uneasy was the interpretation of God - a little strange, but very intriguing. But I believe my uneasiness is a result of the preconceived "religious" picture we are taught as being God is completely different from how Young portrays Him. After a couple of days, I have decided I like it. I like that He makes God accessible. And I have to give the author a little credit - he did graduate from seminary.

Anyway, I highly recommend you read it. ESPECIALLY if you have lost a loved one close to you. I think it just might change your way of thinking.

Today I am starting Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I'm super excited!
