Adulthood.

Well to be honest, I'm not a fan of it.
It makes me feel a bit like this:

Isn't it funny how when we're kids, we can't wait to grow up. Then once we're adults, we spend all of adulthood wanting to be a kid again.

I don't get it.

It's really hard!

You know what gets me?
Budgeting.
Every time I re-do our budget, I feel like that crazy lady above!

Ick!

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of things I love about being a real life grown up.

But I wish someone else magically paid the bills, allocated money to savings, (you know, with THEIR money), and then with the money Chris and I make could be used to have fun with.

Sounds dreamy.

And an awful like when I was 15!

In other news, school started for me last night. I'm finishing my degree online.
What?
Self-discipline? What's that?
And you want me to have this so called self-discipline, manage a budget, and act like an adult?
What was I thinking?

Ah well. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger right?

By the time I'm done, I should be the incredible Hulk!

  1. Eh...you'll do just fine. Budgeting is painful at first, but it is a MOST EXCELLENT habit to get into, and it's better to do it now under your own willpower than to be forced into it because of a catastrophe.

Grab yourself a copy of Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover....a must read for all young couples. (Advice given by the better half of a really old couple.)

I didn't comment the other day about your spring photos - they're so pretty! Aren't you glad that winter is finally slipping away?

  2. I think budgeting is one of my least favorite parts of growing up. It makes me feel like that picture too. I stay within my means but it seems with today's economy the more education I have the less money I make - and rebudgeting is sooooo not fun.
