Looking Through The Windows

Happy weekend! I am super excited!
Why?
Because tomorrow I am going to get inspired. Heather and I are heading to our favorite place, A Classy Flea! And hopefully, I can start putting this house together. I'd love any ideas you have, so I've taken a few photos from around the house.
Here we go.
Let's start in the master bedroom.
This is my favorite part of the room, for some odd reason. It's the light pull on the fan. I'm not sure if you can tell, but it's clear glass with little blue swirls. The walls are smoky blue.
I'm loving these lamps from IKEA. They are clear glass and have openings at the bottom so that you can put decorative stuff inside! I was thinking of flowers. What color? I'm afraid white might be overkill. See the side tables? Should I paint them white?
Molly.

Got this today at TJ Maxx and I'm in love! It's the perfect color and adds a little character to the bed!

See the mirror above? I'm thinking of distressing it white. What do you think?

Ok, moving onto the office/craft room/one day nursery. The counter you see used to be in the kitchen, but it took up too much space. It's PERFECT for my crafts. And it could easily be turned into a changing table when babies enter the picture. The door to the left goes to an extra bedroom that we haven't done anything with yet.

The poor bathroom. Oh, it's come a LONG way. There was carpet in there. Chris ripped it up and laid down this tile. The whole room is so white. SO, we're going to use teal/turquoise accents to pop some color in there. I have to get some new rugs, etc.
The kitchen. And yes, that is the hubs washing dishes. Now, we will definitely be changing the floor in here. Can we say hello 1960? :) Also, please imagine these walls as big bird yellow. And sunflower wall paper. AND sunflower border. Yeah, we ripped that right down! We also installed the microwave over the stove and Chris' dad put in bead board under the cabinets.
I'm really fascinated by this. Notice a difference on the left side of the black line from the right? That there on the right my friends is at least 10 years of grime in the creases of the floor. On the left is the result of my hand scrubbing! Good as new! I've still got a ways to go.
The fab kitchen light Chris installed. Remember when I told you he was channelling his inner handy man?

He even posed to show proof that he loves washing dishes. I'm sure he hates it. Really he does.
And this is the result of throwing a dinner party with no dish washer!

Alright, and now we're in the living room. This was the very first light fixture Chris ever replaced.
It was almost the death of him.
The poor, poor sitting area. We have to get new slipcovers. We're going for a beige color.
Ah. Now this is our fine curtain job. You don't use your sheets as curtains?
Ha! Truth is, this is an odd shaped window on the front of the house and we have to get custom blinds for it. We're working on it.

Now. This decor right here below is what sparked my total breakdown last Saturday regarding decorations. The plan is to move the angels and birdhouse elsewhere and put pictures on the top. We'll see. As you can see, I just stopped.

And again, we have to get new slip covers. And end tables. And a coffee table. See that whole wall where my seating area is? I want to make that whole area into a serene, calm, peaceful sitting area. HELP!
And there you have it! It's a TOTAL different house from when we first moved in. We've made a ton of progress, but still have a long way to go. I plan to take a few photos of stuff tomorrow and hopefully I'll have a renovated home for ya to look at!

  1. I think you should do yellow flowers in your room. Bright and cheery.

I also think you need to do a collage wall in your craft room. Maybe we can find some letters today to throw in that wall...Im SO into letters (as you know).

I think the sheet really brings the place together! hahah

  2. your house is super cute! I totally know how you feel, wanting everything to look just so, and immediately. We've been in our house for almost 2 years and there's still so much I want to do!

I think you should paint your mirror and side tables a light pale blue instead of white, just to make it a bit different.
    great post :)
