Hey friends! I've missed you so much.
Life has just been, oh you know, slightly chaotic.
There was graduation, vacation, the getting back from vacation, AND THE WORK FOR MY NEW PROJECT!!!!

Remember a little while ago I told you about Curvy Moi, a website/blog for the curvy ladies?

Well I am happy to announce that it launched this week!!!!

I have to say, launching this has oddly made me very vulnerable and I wasn't prepared for it.
I've been so excited for launch day, but then when my friends/family complimented me on it yesterday after it launched, it felt strange.

I guess because I've tried for so many years to fit in with everyone else, and this kind of pulls me out and showcases the one thing I've hated about myself for my whole life.
But this is just part of my whole journey to accepting me for me.
I'm a curvy girl, always have been and probably always will be to some extent.

It's not a blog advocating an unhealthy lifestyle, but rather one that encourages women where they are.
The truth is, we all have something we wish we could change about ourselves; but that doesn't mean that you should be miserable with life as a result of it. So while I could definitely stand to lose a few pounds, I am also working to love myself in the midst of the changing; to stop beating myself up every day; to stop making ugly comments to myself in the mirror. It's time for me to be nice to...ME.

Fashion Fun Tuesday

well i'm slightly addicted to polyvore.
i mean honestly, it's just so much fun to create awesome outfits.
i'm the kind of shopper that needs fashion inspiration.
i don't do well with just going to a store and figuring out what looks good.
this is why i love pinterest so much. i can find an outfit i like and then run with it.
i can get creative after the fact, i just need help with the initial direction.
so i decided i needed to play around with some of the new shirts i bought this weekend.
to achieve these cutie pie looks i'll only need to buy some red flats and a pink cardigan.

Weekend Happenings...and Crafting

this was a weekend that required lots of shopping!
i needed to get out of the house.
and so we checked out the mall for the first time since being here!
there were some great deals going on.
i've been wanting to try belts. apparently they're "in" or something like that. haha.
i've always stayed away from them because i was afraid they would accentuate a few non-flattering qualities of my waist line. however, when worn correctly, they actually make me look better!
i found this awesome 3-pack of skinny belts. um, yes please. i got a blue, silver, and snakeskin.
then i got an oversized wide brown belt that i can not wait to wear! come on fall!
i hit up the clearance racks for all the tanks. and we all know that i have plenty of cardigans to pair these up with. we could go black, yellow, blue, fuscia, green, coral. endless possibilities.
the blue cardigan was marked down too! yes!
and then after my post on all things gray the other day, i bought one of the shirts and 2 others online. i couldn't help myself.

while in the mood for shopping, i also found myself in quite the mood for crafting.

i have a couple of birdcages that i want to hang in the colorful spare bedroom.

but they were boring and white.

so a trip to the home depot and some spray paint later, we have a teal and red bird cage.

i'm sooooo excited with how they turned out!

and then there's our dining room table.

we found a guy in dallas that makes custom furniture for cheap. we gave him the dimensions and description for our dining table and that we wanted a farmhouse feel. he did a great job.

he was trying to be nice and added a couple of embellishments on the side - see the black decorative addition?

i spent about 2 weeks trying to convince myself that i liked them, but i just didn't.
it didn't match.

and my original vision for the table was a darker top. really a simple table.

so while at the home depot, we picked up some stain.

so i fixed that baby right up. the embellishments were just nailed on, so we were able to pop them off with no issues. and then of course i stained the top of the table. It dried a lot darker than this picture and it's perfect.

oh and check out the most perfect basket i found for the center piece. 

i absolutely love it now!

i just have to figure out what to put in the basket.

i was thinking maybe apples? or some old mason jars with flowers in them?

help!!! what to do here?

Oh I have a serious love affair with Pinterest. It's like everything I've ever dreamed of in one place! Ahhhh....heavenly.

4. Twitter or Instagram? Why? This is a toughy. I take pics with Instagram and link it to my twitter, so I use them almost equally. How to choose?

I get really irritated with people's status updates that serve no purpose. Or people who have a new self-portrait every day. Really?

Gray or Grey

i've had a love affair with gray clothing for as long as i can remember.
gray socks...oh my, those are my absolute most favorite thing in the world.
gray lounge pants....something about the gray just makes it more comfy.

my head is a screwed up place to be.
i know this.
just follow. or try to.

sidenote: what is the difference between gray and grey? i don't think there is one...at least i can't find a difference in the dictionary.

anyway.
i love it. i can't help it.
and on pinterest lately, there has been a whole slew of pretty awesome outfits in gray/grey.
this makes my heart happy on an enormous level.
and so my fashion board in pinterest is being taken over by these lovelies.
i only saw it fitting to share this happiness with you all.
seriously, what's not to love?
i want every single one of these. i need them.
this still gives me 2 days a week for additional color.
speaking of color, there are infinite possibilities for color accessories with gray! it's like the new black!
teal, red, yellow, pink, black, green, white, purple.....i could go on and on.
let the love affair begin!
